Course Overview

Avid Xpress DV 119 Editing Course - a comprehensive two day certified Avid training course on Avid Xpress DV.
Planet PC are Avid accredited trainers.

The Xpress DV 119 Course covers the following modules:-

• Module 1 : Avid System Overview
• Module 2 : Basic Editing
• Module 3 : Fine Tuning
• Module 4 : Additional Editing Tools
• Module 5 : Saving Your Work
• Module 6 : Editing Dialog
• Module 7 : Working in the Time Line
• Module 8 : Working with Audio
• Module 9 : Input
• Module 10 : Preparing your Bin for Editing
• Module 11 : Creating a Digital Cut

Each Module consists of an interactive presentation of the Module content followed by a practical exercise.

Please note Avid Training is held on PC systems, rather than on Apple Macs.

Course Prerequisites

This course assumes that you have some basic knowledge of the editing process as an editor, assistant editor, director, producer, or have otherwise gained knowledge of the editing process.

This course also assumes that you are familiar with the Windows or Macintosh computer system software, whichever you use.

Windows: You should complete an introductory course on Windows XP or have equivalent experience. You should be familiar with the user interface and navigational tools.

Macintosh: You should complete a Macintosh introductory course or have equivalent experience. This should include knowledge of Macintosh computer system software OS X and familiarity with the Macintosh finder.

Users unfamiliar with the Windows or Macintosh user interface can get up to speed by practising using the interface before taking the course. You should feed comfortable performing the following tasks on your system: selecting multiple files and other objects; navigating through the file hierarchy; opening, closing and saving files; and using other command commands and menu items (and preferably using some keyboard shortcuts) such as moving and copying files.

Booking Information

Courses are held at our premises in West Yorkshire or on-site at your business premises.

Avid courses run from 9.00am to 5.00pm over two consecutive days. Each day will include two coffee breaks and a 30 minute lunch where we will supply refreshments and a buffet style lunch (lunch is only supplied if training is carried out at our premises). Avid courses held at our premises cost £1,000.00 + VAT per person.
