Final Cut Pro is a professional digital video editing and effects application used in professional and semi-professional video post-production. This introductory course will familiarise participants with Final Cut Pro's basic approach to video editing, as well as providing additional insights into a wider range of special features and functionality. All training is hands on and project led.

- Edit in the Final Cut Pro environment
- Create a short movie using cuts and transitions
- Apply audio and visual effects filters
- Print finished material to video

- Introduction to DV and Quick Time
- The anatomy of Final Cut Pro
- Starting a project and setting a capture scratch
- Media Management
- Digitising footage using Log and Capture window
- Managing and organising clips using the browser window and bins
- Creating sequences and setting sequence preferences
- Using the viewer, canvas and timeline windows
- Editing using drag & drop & Edit buttons
- Insert & overwrite edits
- Using transitions and filters with video and audio
- Creating titles and effects using video generators
- Laying off to tape using Print to Video
- Exporting material for multimedia and internet through Quick Time
Course Prerequisites
Familiarity with the Apple Macintosh platform would be useful but is not essential. Knowledge or experience with video or film editing concepts would also be an advantage.

Costs for attending Final Cut Pro Courses at Planet PC's premises:-
Final Cut Pro (Basic) 1 Day Courses cost: £550 ex vat for one individual. The cost for a further individual from the same company is an additional £150 ex vat.
